今回はネパールのトリブバン大学環境学部・学部長のリジャル博士をお招きして、ネパールにおける環境学研究の課題や共同研究の可能性についてお話ししていただく予定です。

Exploring Research Opportunities on Different Environmental Domains Between Nepalese and Japanese Institutes

The concerns on environment in Nepal are seemingly increasing. The problems of air, water, solid wastes, land, sound pollution and depletion of natural resources and their impacts on human kinds are being recognized in various parts of Nepal. But the scientific researches and the environmental datasets to address such problems are still inadequate. There are many gaps and inconsistencies, lack of time series data, and lack of comparability between different data sets. Central Department of Environmental Science (CDES), Tribhuvan University (TU), Kathmandu, Nepal is trying to conduct joint research with different national and international universities and research institutions through their academician by involving young graduates. Furthermore, CDES intends to collaborate for substantial strategic research and faculties and student exchange program with international academic communities. CDES is also willing to develop knowledge-sharing networks and determine new and innovative approaches to conduct research on different domain of Environment Science. We believe that the network and relationship between institutions may help for betterment of the society and nature.
