要旨：

Nearly two decades ago Ambassador Hussain Haqqani argued that Pakistan’s was “Between Mosque and Military” and a confluence of the two. This talk will assess the validity of that argument in 2017 and how the dynamics have changed in the interim, especially in view of two parliaments finishing their full terms for the first time in Pakistan’s history. It will also comment on the changing Geo political scenario of the region and how it affects the internal politics of Pakistan.

Prof. Yaqoob Khan Bangash is currently Director, Centre for Governance and Policy, Information Technology University, Lahore (April, 2015—present); Assistant Professor and Chairman, Department of Humanities, Information Technology University, Lahore (April, 2015—present); Senior Fellow, South and South East Asia Action Team, Religious Freedom Institute (April 2017—present). He is the author of A Princely Affair: Accession and Integration of the Princely States of Pakistan, 1947-55 (Karachi: Oxford University Press, 2015) and By Love, In Service: A History of Forman Christian College, 1864-2014 (forthcoming). He writes widely in The Express Tribune, The News, South Asia Magazines, etc.
